Dunno how we ended up in this place.
Me and Heather are in a station, like Skegness rail station, but underground. Or it feels underground, as there is absolutely no natural light. The station is a dead end all bar one platform.
We are trying to get to Manchester (even though ‘it’s full of shit, shit and more shit’, but there are no trains anywhere.
The station is packed. People are panicking as there seems to be no actual exit to the station. Imagine a darker version of where Neo finds himself at the start of the third Matrix film.
There are about eight train tracks, and each one leads into a tunnel.
I try to find out what the hell is going on but there are no station staff, and the departure board is just showing a load of gobbledegook.
Some people have decided that they are going to try to walk down one of the very dark tunnels. I follow them, telling Heather to wait, and that I will come back for her if its safe.
We get a hundred yards down the tunnel, and see a huge tunneling machine in front but slightly below us.
The machine is causing the level we are on to disintegrate further in front of us, so its obvious that we aren’t going anywhere.
I get back to the platform and find Heather looking very upset. The situation is getting to her, and we need to get out of here fast.
A hush descends on the crowd of people in this bizarre station. The rail on the far platform, the only one that isn’t a dead end, has started to crack and squeal.
This means only one thing. A train.
A huge dark train pulls in. There are no lights on it, but you can vaguely see inside it. It’s old first class stock, with table lamps in and dirty drawn curtains in each window.
The thing is me and Heather are three platforms over, and there are a shit load of people between us and the train. Also, the train, though huge in size, is only three carriages long.
We run up and over a bridge, as the people lucky enough to be on that platform start to pile onto the train. As we get on to the platform, a whistle blows signaling the train to depart.
There are still people desperately trying to get on the train, but the doors are not shut. The platform is crowded still, and people start to bang on the windows.
There is a flash of light and the lights inside the train come on, as it pulls off.
